What is the Business Patriot program?

The Washington County Commission has announced its new Business Patriot program, an initiative to help keep Washington County both law-abiding and economically strong. The Business Patriot program recognizes businesses which utilize the free E-Verify program as a standard practice when determining employment eligibility of new hires and the validity of their Social Security numbers.

During its public monthly meetings, the Commission will award framed certificates to newly joined Washington County Business Patriots. The business names of Washington County Business Patriots will also be announced and advertised in appropriate media.

Sounds great; how do I participate?

It's easy for an employer to enroll in the E-Verify program through the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) website.

After joining E-Verify, if you would like your business to be recognized as a Business Patriot, simply contact the Washington County Commission office at 435.634.5700.
