Auction Details

The auction will be conducted exclusively at publicsurplus.com. All sales will conclude at 4:00 pm on the day of the auction and will be conducted in accordance with the procedures of the Washington County Auditor. The full parcel will be sold to the highest dollar bidder, with no bids accepted below the outstanding balance. This balance may include taxes, tax notice charges, interest, penalties, and administrative costs which are a charge upon the real estate. Any amount received exceeding the outstanding balance will be treated as surplus property and be forwarded to the State Treasurer. Only qualified registered bidders who submit a bid deposit may participate in the sale.

Successful bidders must tender full payment to PayMac, a third-party payment processing company, within two business days after the date of the Notice of Award of the successful bid and in accordance with the terms of Public Surplus and PayMac.

If a successful bidder fails to satisfy the requirements of this subsection the County Auditor may contact the next highest bidder and offer the property to that bidder for the amount of the bidder’s highest bid. If this bidder declines to accept the offer, the County Auditor may then contact the next highest bidder. In addition, each winning bidder will pay an 8% Buyer’s Fee to Public Surplus.

The Washington County Commission reserves the right to accept or reject any sale although it is their intent to accept all sales that meet the minimum bid requirement. The Washington County Commission will ratify this sale on June 17, 2025, at its regular scheduled commission meeting. If you have any questions, contact the County Auditor office at 435-301-7220 or Send a Message.

Disclaimer: The bidder assumes full responsibility for evaluating the physical aspects of the land, including its geographical location, accessibility, and the availability or validity of water rights. Additionally, the bidder should thoroughly assess any existing improvements on the property. It is strongly recommended to seek professional advice and conduct comprehensive due diligence before placing a bid.
