Eric Clarke is the Washington County Attorney. He was initially appointed in February 2020 and has been elected twice since that time. From 2011 to 2020, Eric worked in the county attorney’s office advising various elected officials and county departments on legal matters. He has been the lead attorney for the county’s renewal of its Mohave Desert Tortoise Incidental take permit, which has included significant work on the state’s Northern Corridor road project.
Eric and his wife, Kristen, and have six children ranging in age from 5 to 18. Eric went to high school in Tropic, Utah and studied political science at Utah State University. He earned his law degree from BYU. Before law school, Eric taught 5th grade in Phoenix with Teach for America. Immediately after law school he clerked for Judge Ted Stewart of the U.S. District Court in Salt Lake City.
