Road work will resume Monday June 19th on a road project to improve the safety of Old Highway 91 in Washington County from Mile Post 4 to Mile Post 16 on the road from Ivins, Utah to Littlefield, Arizona. Work is expected to cause traffic delays until completion in mid- July 2017.
Work will consist of installing guardrail. No overnight or complete road closures are anticipated. Delays of 15 minutes or more will be common due to lane restrictions and potential safety concerns in the work zones. The work area is 12 miles long and work crews could be working at many different locations throughout the project. Reduced speeds will be enforced through the work areas.
Please make your travel plans anticipating these delays. The public is encouraged to use Interstate 15 through the Virgin River Gorge as their main travel way during this period of time to allow the construction crews to work and increase safety in the work zones.
