Washington County Seeks Witnesses to Help Keep Roads in the County Open and Accessible

St. George and Hurricane, Utah — The County Commission is hosting open houses for individuals who used roads, especially dirt roads, located within the county prior to 1976. The County has an ongoing lawsuit against the federal government to protect local roads and needs help from local residents to establish that roads were used by the public during the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.

Potential witnesses should be at least 60 years old, have memories of using local roads, and be willing to share their memories in an effort to establish that the roads were used continuously for 10 years or more prior to 1976.
