Utah legislature recently passed SB31, changing the Utah state flag. A statewide initiative has begun to repeal SB31 and restore the Utah state flag. This serves as notice for the public hearing for the statewide initiative “Restoring the Utah State Flag” as required by UCA 20A-7-204.1, which will be held at the following location, date, and time:

Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) First Public Hearing Notice

Washington County will hold a public hearing to consider potential projects for which funding may be applied under the CDBG Small Cities Program for Program Year 2017. Suggestions for potential projects will solicited, both verbally and in writing, from all interested parties. The expected amount of CDBG funds for this program year will be discussed along with the range of projects eligible under this program and a review of previously funded projects. The hearing will begin at 4:00 P.M. on January 3, 2017 and will be held at Washington County Commission Chambers:

Notice of Proposed Tax Increase for Washington County School District

The Washington County School District is proposing to increase its property tax revenue.

  • The Washington County School District tax on a $245,197 residence would increase from $622.10 to $630.06, which is $7.96 per year.
     
  • The Washington County School District tax on a $245,197 business would increase from $1,131.09 to $1,145.56, which is $14.47 per year.
     
  • If the proposed budget is approved, Washington County School District would increase its property tax budgeted revenue by 1.85% above last year’s property tax budgeted revenue excluding new growth.

All concerned citizens are invited to a public hearing on the tax increase.
