Warner Draw Watershed Supplemental Plan & Environmental Impact Statement for the Gould Wash Flood Protection Project

The United States Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Washington County, and Hurricane City announce the availability of the Warner Draw Watershed Supplemental Watershed Plan No. 10 and Draft Environmental Impact Statement (Plan-EIS) for the Gould Wash Flood Protection Project (Project). The Project preferred alternative proposes improvements along Gould Wash through Hurricane City and installation of a dry detention dam on land managed by the Bureau of Land Management upstream of Hurricane City, in Washington County, Utah. The Project would reduce flooding in Hurricane City, protecting people, structures, transportation infrastructure, public utilities, and property from floodwater damage.

An evaluation of potential project alternatives and associated environmental impacts have been documented in the form of a Draft Plan-EIS. NRCS (lead federal agency) and the local sponsoring organizations (Washington County and Hurricane City), will hold a public meeting to provide information about the proposed Project and Draft Plan-EIS analysis, and to collect comments on the Draft Plan-EIS.
