Notice of Rock Excavation Work on Gunlock Road from September 28 to October 12, 2026

GUNLOCK ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE

Please be aware of upcoming rock excavation work on Gunlock Road.

Monday, September 28 – Monday, October 12

During this time, Gunlock Road will be closed between Mile Marker 2 and Mile Marker 4 while excavation work is underway.

Access to the Town of Gunlock and Gunlock Reservoir will be available via Highway 18 and North Gunlock Road.

Access to the Motoqua Road will be available via Old Highway 91 and South Gunlock Road.

Gunlock Road will be temporarily opened during the Marathon on Saturday, October 3rd for one-way traffic.

Please plan accordingly, allow extra travel time, and use caution around construction zones.

RFQ for Cremation Services for Unclaimed and Indigent Decedents

Washington County is soliciting proposals from licensed funeral service establishments located in Washington County that wish to provide cremation services for unclaimed decedents and County-approved indigent decedents at the County’s set rate of $1,000 per decedent, consistent with Utah law and applicable Washington County ordinances and policies. The County is not requesting price proposals. The County intends to enter into an agreement with each responsive and responsible Respondent that meets the requirements of this RFP and agrees to accept the County’s set rate.

The Request for Qualifications (RFQ) will be available from the Washington County Administration Office on Monday, September 28, 2026, and can be requested by emailing Nicholle Felshaw at nicholle.felshaw@washco.utah.gov.  To be considered, a proposal must be submitted to the County on or before October 2, 2026. The Washington County Commission reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, or to waive any formality or technicality in any proposal in the best interest of the County.
