Public Notice Testing Of Automatic Tabulating Equipment

PUBLIC NOTICE TESTING OF AUTOMATIC TABULATING EQUIPMENT

In accordance with UCA 20A-4-104, testing of the automatic tabulating equipment will be held at the Washington County Administration Building, 111 E Tabernacle Street, St. George, Utah (Google Maps) on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 12:00 pm. The test will begin in room number 154, entrance E.

Election Day Notice: Special and Municipal Primary Elections

Tuesday, September 5, 2023
Polling: 7am — 8pm

"Notice is given that the Special Primary election for the U.S. House Representative District 2 and the Municipal Primary election will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2023."

This election will include the Republican Party Primary race for the U.S. House Representative 2 as well as 6 Municipalities Primary elections. Only active voters who are currently affiliated with the Republican Party and all active registered voters in the municipalities that are having a primary election will receive a ballot by mail.

Washington County will have 2 Vote Center locations on September 5, 2023 to assist voters. Accessible voting equipment will be available at each vote center to assist voters with sight and mobility issues. Disabled voters may also contact the county Clerk’s office to learn more about a new program to assist them in voting independently at home, please contact us at (435) 301-7248.

All Washington County precincts will be available at either vote center location. The vote center locations are:

The pre-election test of the automatic tabulating equipment was held on Friday, August 11, 2023, at 12pm in the Washington County Clerk’s office.

All voters must provide Valid Voter Identification. More information can be found at our Voter Identification Requirements.

If there are any changes to the location of a polling place or the addition of a polling place more information will be provided at County Elections page or vote.utah.gov.

Washington County General Public Defender Contract Available

Members of the Utah State Bar in good standing are invited to apply for the following General Public Defender contract with Washington County to start on August 15, 2023:

General Public Defender Contract (1): $66,756 annual compensation plus CLE subsidy. Successful candidate will represent indigent clients as assigned by Fifth District court judges in Washington County.

Notice of Public Hearings – Zone Changes

The Washington County Planning Commission will be holding a Public Hearing regarding the following zone changes:

  1. OST-20 (Open Space Transition 20-acre minimum lot size) zone to a RE-40 (Residential Estate 40,000 square feet minimum lot size) zone. The parcels considered for re-zoning are 7129-A-1-NW, 7129-B-NW, and BSH-2-A-N, located near Brookside Summer Home Subdivision. Applicant is Ryan Burton.
  2. A-20 (Agricultural 20-acre minimum lot size) zone to an A-10 (Agricultural 10-acre minimum lot size) zone. The parcel considered for re-zoning is 3017-B-5-NS, approximately located at 1309 E 800 N. The applicant is Jay Helvey.
